Looking both ways ...
"You don't know where you’re going ...until you know where you've been."
I discovered the Suzanne Somers weight-loss program called Somersize in March 2001. My choice to try Somersizing was because my Mother was experiencing a lot of health problems which I believe are food related. I didn't want to go through the same experience therefore I sought out a program that would change the way I eat and improve my health.
I began on March 05, 2001 with a starting weight of 160 lbs. Three months later on June 10, 2001 I reached my goal weight of 130 lbs.
I loved that I found a plan that allowed me to eat foods I loved without counting calories, fat grams, weighing and measuring my foods, etc. This worked for a while, but the reality was that over the years I could stick to the plan, lose the weight, but I never seemed to learn how to maintain my weight.
I’m an “all or nothing” kinda girl, so as the years passed by, I kept trying my ALL …I was not willing to give up on this program. Finally, in March 2011, when I reached my 10th Anniversary of Somersizing, I felt sad and discouraged. I got on the scale and the number looking back at me was 182 lbs., I just knew in that moment that something had to change.
It was time for me to let go and to say goodbye to Somersize, although it was hard to end this 10 year relationship, I owed it to myself to find a program that would improve my health and not only lose weight but would allow me to maintain a healthy weight.
I felt that the biggest change I needed to move forward was to learn how to use “tools” to eat in a way that would not make me feel deprived. I decided to try the Weight Watchers program.
I found myself holding onto the Somersize program for the first 3 months, yes breaking up is hard to do! At my 12 week weigh in, I had lost/gained and was just 2 lbs. away from my March starting weight. I decided that it really was time to choose …either Somersize or Weight Watchers.
From that week on, I really began following the Weight Watchers program and I began seeing results. I tracked my points, weighed/measured all my foods to teach me about servings and portion sizes. I gave up diet soda and fell back in love with water exercise.
Each week I am amazed at how much my body is changing. I have definitely lost weight and inches and now it was time to focus on really improving my health. This is when I discovered the “Eat Clean Diet.”
I am a magazine “junkie” and was reading through the October issue of Oxygen when I kept seeing references to clean eating, eat clean recipes and Tosca. At first, I just simply passed over this not really knowing what Tosca was then I became intrigued and had to learn more. So glad I did, through my research I learned about Tosca Reno and the Eat Clean Diet.
